The Belle Époque palace originally opened in 1894 as the European headquarters for the New York Life Insurance Company. It closed and suffered significant damage during the First and Second World Wars. The building reopened in the 1950s as a sports shop and tourism office before closing again in the 1990s. It reopened as a luxury hotel in 2006 and joined the Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas portfolio in 2020. Now, the property is in the final stages of a soft opening, ahead of debuting property-wide upgrades.

The property offers guests plenty of on- and off-site experiences. Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel is home to 185 guestrooms and suites across six floors. Dine in the iconic New York Café, often called the most beautiful café in the world. The restaurant is open 8 a.m.–midnight. Stop in at The Poet Bar for a pre-dinner cocktail or a nightcap. In-room dining is available 24/7. Visit the new Anantara Spa for a luxurious treatment. Host your next meeting or event at Anantara New York Palace; the property can accommodate intimate or large-scale gatherings.

Take advantage of unique programming, bookable directly through the hotel. Go on a guided tour of the city in a vintage Volkswagen SAMBA. The two–four-hour tour brings guests to the Buda and Pest sides of the city, with an optional stop for a picnic lunch in the park, weather permitting. Travel to Tard, Hungary, for an immersive experience of Matyó culture, including embroidery and cooking. Foodies can opt for a private Spice Spoons cooking class. Learn to make traditional Hungarian dishes and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Budapest International Airport is about a 20-minute drive from the hotel. Many of Budapest’s popular attractions are within walking distance.
