For those interested in pursuing a degree at Harvard University, or just those who love a good dose of Ivy League history, the Havahd Tour is an award-winning tour and a top attraction in Cambridge. The tour was created by a Harvard student and has been going strong for 10 years.
The 70-minute theatrical, outdoor tour includes stops at the major Harvard sites such as Harvard Yard, Memorial Hall, the John Harvard Statue and Harvard Square. All guides are current or previous Harvard students and they’re full of information on the history of the institution, student life and the most famous Harvard alumni.
The tour is not a part of Harvard University and is its own private company, so the guides are not there to recruit you — just give you an inside look at one of the country’s most famous schools.
The Havahd Tour’s parent company, Trademark Tours, offers private and more immersive tours as well, if you want to delve even deeper into the institute’s past. The private tours allow you to explore the interior of certain historic buildings on campus and are also offered in five different languages. Trademark Tours also offers tours of MIT and the city of Boston.
Tours are offered every day March–December, rain or shine. Tickets are $10 and available online.
