Tips / Travel

Dinner and a movie. Drinks and dancing. Flowers and chocolates. Sound familiar? Shake up the traditional Valentine’s Day celebrations this year by treating your loved one to a unique event.

Cupid’s Undie Run

Taking place in 38 cities across the United States, the mile-long run benefits the Children’s Tumor Foundation. Enjoy the pre-game, run and after-party all in your underwear! Register with a significant other for a truly unique date.

Tango Workshop

Learn the dance of love in New York City. For couples only, the workshop includes a beginner’s lesson and a treat of Champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries.

Masquerade Party

Perfect for Philadelphia couples or singles, the masquerade event includes live entertainment, an open bar, food stations and a speed dating station. Party the night away in your best cocktail attire and mask.

Bike Swap

The Chicago Bike Coalition celebrates its sixth annual winter bike swap. Held at Jaks Tap Restaurant, a $5 entrance fee lets you browse and buy bikes, bike parts and accessories. Local non-profit groups and organizations with bicycle-related services and products will participate.

Roller Disco

The fifth annual Austin Roller Disco is a 21-and-older event featuring live music and rollerskating, of course. Bellbottoms are encouraged.

Movie Screening at a Cemetery

Watch cult classic Harold and Maude at Long Beach’s Sunnyside Cemetery. Bring a blanket and picnic basket. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. for the 8 p.m. screening.
