The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia isn’t just for kids. Following the success of last year’s program, the science museum offers an adult-only science series, Science After Hours. Each month, the museum features a one-night event filled with experiments, discussions and demonstrations geared towards adults. Of course, cocktails and light food are included. Events cover a range of subjects.
Here’s the 2015 lineup:
- March 10: How would you fare during a viral outbreak, natural disaster or shipwrecked? Test your survival skills.
- April 24: The 2015 Philadelphia Science Festival Kick-off celebration features more than 40 activities and live music.
- May 12: The sci-fi themed evening highlighting Star Trek, Star Wars and more.
- June 2: Follow in the footsteps of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and learn about science through the ages.
- July 14: Make arts and crafts, eat s’mores and play games during the summer camp-inspired night.
- August 11: Discover how science and art collide.
- September 8: Explore the color green through ecology, envy, money and more.
- October 13: Learn about the science behind superheroes.
- November 17: Experience an old-school gym class complete with dodgeballs and parachutes.
Science After Hours events are held from 7–10 p.m. The 21 and older events cost $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Purchase your tickets ahead of time, as the limited edition events will likely sell out.
