The more technology that comes along, the more reasons we find ourselves needing a little on-the-go power out on our adventures. Enter the Generac iQ2000, a portable invertor generator that keeps you connected and cooking no matter where you go.
Unlike many generators on the market, the iQ2000 is a digital inverter module that converts the raw power produced from DC into the AC power you can use to operate a portable grill, radio and more electronic devices. Third party tests indicated the iQ2000 generator was up to 50 percent quieter than comparable generators on the market.
The generator comes packed with features including an electronic fuel gauge, generator status lights, a PowerBar and a run-time remaining display to let you know how much juice is left. It includes three separate modes — Standard, Economy or Select Turbo. The iQ2000 can also be connected to another iQ2000 for double the output.
The developers also combined the run, stop and start functions into one easy-to-use Powerdial. It’s so easy a monkey could use it.
The generator is small enough that it’ll fit easily into the trunk of your car or truck, though you might have troubles taking it on a plane; it’s best suited for in-country adventures into the wild.
At only $799 MSRP on Amazon, we think it’s quite a good deal.
