Tips / Travel

Did you know if you’re delayed, canceled or denied boarding for a flight, you’re entitled to some compensation? It might sound too good to be true, and if you’re outside of the European Union, it is.

In effect since Feb. 17, 2005, EC 261/2004 states air passengers are entitled to compensation in the case of cancelation, long delays or denial of boarding due to overbooking. First- and business-class travelers can even receive cash for not getting into the compartment they booked. The bill details the basic regulations that must be followed by all air carriers based in the European Union, though only flights that depart or arrive in the EU are eligible for compensation.

Most people have enough trouble as is when talking to airline representatives, so Airclaim does all the hard work for you in getting your money back. Just enter your flight details and provide a signature (online or in the mail), and in the event of a successful claim, you can get up to €600 back, with the company keeping 25 percent as commission. Airclaim even covers you in the case of litigation, charging no fee unless you win.

Learn more about the details of compensation and passenger rights at airclaim.net/faq.
