Next May will mark the opening of Under Canvas’ first-ever Pacific Northwest. Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge will sit on 120 acres along the Columbia River Gorge in Washington’s White Salmon River Valley, an area known for its waterfalls, wineries and towering peaks. The new glamping site will be surrounded by pine- and oak-forested hillsides, Oregon’s Mount Hood, and the snow-capped peaks of the Cascade Mountain Range.
When the glamping site opens, guests will enjoy tents featuring upscale, safari-inspired canvas tents on elevated private decks. Tents will come with plush king-sized beds; a gas fireplace; and en-suite bathroom featuring a hot pull-chain shower, sink and flushing toilet. Signature to this new camp is the Mount Hood Suite Tent, boasting two tents adjoined by a private deck.
Amenities include Under Canvas’ Adventure Concierge, available to assist in curating and booking local experiences like rafting and fishing. The site will also see some culinary offerings with a West Coast influence, including local seafood and a selection of curated wines and craft beers from the area. The lobby tent will be adorned with artwork and will hold books from local artisans, as well as a boutique retail space. An on-site yoga deck provides the perfect spot for yoga, stargazing or simply enjoying the views.
Under Canvas’ 13th camp is easily accessible from Mount Hood (45 minutes) and Portland, Oregon (one hour), while White Salmon sits less than 15 miles away. Guests can quickly reach a wide range of vineyards and wineries within just 10 miles of the property.
Under Canvas Columbia River Gorge is now accepting reservations for its opening season, May 29–Oct. 27.
