On Lake Placid’s Main Street, Hotel North Woods reopened following a major renovation with a new name: Grand Adirondack Hotel, Lake Placid, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. In 1927, the building opened as Hotel Marcy, and today boasts 92 guestrooms reflecting the property’s history and surroundings.

The hotel boasts artwork from local artists, and new dining options like Marcy, a brasserie-style eatery for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Marcy Bar. Cloud Splitter holds the title of highest rooftop bar in the Adirondacks.
