How To's

Regardless of if your wedding dress is traditional or in a pin-up style, you can get the whole bridal party involved in having a pin-up theme wedding. If you are wearing a retro-style dress, you can have the groom match your style and join in the fun too.

Fall in love with Brooks Brothers Mad Men-esque line Black Fleece. Your husband-to-be will look like he just stepped out of a 1950s ad agency in one of these streamlined silhouette suits designed by Thom Browne. These suits are on the pricey side, but can be worn again and again. If you’re looking for more of a Rockabilly style, these custom made vests by Bombshell Bridal are a mere $69. To really get in the “swing” of things, the groom or groomsmen can get decked out in a zoot suit! Luckily, Zoot Suit Store specializes in just that. Check out their shirts for a more casual look with a pair of black jeans, that says “cool daddy-o.” Or just add a Pinup Girl tie to his regular suit. If your groom is in the military, he can wear his uniform the same way a lot of the soldiers did during 1940s wartime, and if he’s in the Navy, a vintage sailor’s uniform would be perfect.

Think sweetheart necklines, full skirts, wiggle dresses, shorter hemlines, bolero jackets and gloves for your bridesmaids. Shabby Apple has some cute retro dresses like the Ocean Plunge dress for just $88, which will keep your maid’s wallets happy. Bettie Page Clothing is pretty much a one-stop shop for your pin-up dress needs. The Brigit circle skirt dress, the floral print Alika and the simple Ella wiggle dress are sure to please. Don’t forget to check out Etsy and Ebay for authentic vintage finds.

Accessorize your maids with cute handbags like a martini purse from Bettie Page, elegant gloves in white or in polka dots from Starlets and Harlots, or gussy up a plain dress with a vintage collar necklace from Sirens and Starlets.

Continue the vintage fun for your bridal party with bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts that have a pin-up flair. Vargas-style pocket mirrors for the ladies, pin-up cufflinks, personalized pin-up flasks or personalized pin-up beer koozies for the men and/or maids.
