The Helix folding bike is the perfect adventure travel companion.

It was founded and invented by Peter Boutakis, a software developer, machinist, welder and cyclist who combined his passions and talents to bring the world the coolest folding bike ever. He’s spent the past eight years working on various designs, and finally found the winner.

The bike can fold down to the size of its wheels, making it the world’s smallest folding bike at 23 inches by 25 inches by 9 inches. And even then, the Helix’s wheels are bigger than most wheels on a folding bike. It’s made of titanium yet weighs only 21 pounds, and has been thoroughly designed to be inherently safe. The locking design has a secondary safety, and a spring-loaded locking device feels solid as you ride.

The best part? It can fit in your suitcase!

Helix is proudly designed and manufactured in Toronto, Canada, where the team continues to enhance the bike every day. It’s currently not on the mass market, but Helix plans to launch a Kickstarter soon, and you can sign up to be notified when it does. The scheduled delivery date is July 2015, and in the next months, they plan to roll out a few final pre-production models for customers to ooooh and aaah at.
