Winter is upon us and it is time to start planning the perfect winter getaway! Whether you are going to ski, snowboard or just relax and take in the beautiful scenery, the Adirondacks has something for every type of traveler.

Nearby in Tupper Lake, Wild Lights also return to the Wild Center. Stroll through thousands of twinkling lights, enjoy good music, fire pits, food, beverages and more.

2022 Winter Fun

The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival, the longest-running winter carnival in the Northeast, returns Feb. 4–13. The site of two Winter Olympics, Lake Placid invites guests to join in on the Olympic fun with family-friendly activities. Travelers can fly down the world-famous bobsled track at 60 mph, skate on the Olympic Speed Skating Loop, shred down the best skiing and snowboarding mountains in the state, and take the Skyride Gondola to the ski jump towers.

 

Oak Mountain in Lake Pleasant offers many different trails for all different levels. Snow tubing is also available for a fun adventure. Ausable Chasm, also known as “Grand Canyon of the East” and the oldest attraction in the United States, will also feature fun activities. This is a magical winter getaway for hikers and those looking to go snowshoeing, ice climbing and more.
