Plated is a home cooking delivery service that allows you to choose seasonal recipes you love and receive all of the ingredients and instructions in the mail. What sets Plated apart from other similar subscription plans is the ability to choose from a variety of recipes and plan your subscription months in advance, skipping and scheduling deliveries as you like.
Subscriptions range in size, from two meals for two people weekly to seven meals for two people weekly. Each meal is $12 per plate (or less than what you’d spend at a restaurant) and you’ll receive free shipping on any order more than $50. You can also add on little extras, such as dessert, which is $4 per serving.

Deliveries include all of the ingredients you wouldn’t normally have on hand and easy-to-follow instructions. They expect you to have a few staples in your cabinets already, such as oil, salt, pepper and eggs, but they’ll send everything else.
You can choose from nine recipes each week, and all represent a wide variety of tastes, with three weekly suited for vegetarian diets. As many local and organic ingredients as possible are used, including 100 percent, antibiotic-free beef and 100 percent, sustainably sourced seafood.
Recent meals to choose from include chicken meatball sliders with Brussels sprouts, fish tacos with avocado salsa, beef stir-fry with brown rice and more. They also offer Chef’s Table selections, like the seared skirt steak with potatoes, which are priced separately according to market prices. The dessert options are also fun, with tempting selections such as s’mores pie.
