In addition to registering on popular websites such as Target and Pottery Barn, check out Honeyfund, a free gift-funding website where family and friends can help pay for your honeymoon.
The world’s most popular honeymoon registry launched in 2006 when owners Sara and Josh Margulis needed to pay for their own honeymoon to Fiji with barely enough funds to finance their wedding. The site became the top alternative wedding registry, transacting approximately $239 million since its inception.
Soon-to-be married couples trying to get their finances in order for their wedding can register online for free. The website allows users to set up a profile and ask friends and family to help pay for a honeymoon, fund any savings goals and pay for specific gifts such as meals, special outings, hotels, airfare and even a down payment on a home.
In addition to Honeyfund, the Margulises created a second website, Plumfund, for other gift-giving events such as birthdays, holiday gifts, baby showers and projects.
Both websites provide gift-funding options for users as well as customization and upgrades.
Whether you’re getting married soon or want to get your planning done in advance, check out the website to start fundraising for the honeymoon of your dreams now.
