Hotel Chicago West Loop is Chicago’s first hotel to bring street art inside, and to every guestroom. The dual-purpose property doubles as an art gallery, and launched its “Annex Murals” exhibit in 2018 with 15 hand-painted rooms boasting the work of some of Chicago’s most celebrated urban artists, including Asend, JC Rivera and Eloo. Today, all 116 rooms at the hotel have been painted with street murals, becoming some of the most distinctive lodging spaces in the city.

In addition to guestrooms, the Annex galleries at Hotel Chicago West Loop also include the lobby and all four levels of hallways with more than 100 pieces of 2-D media; these are both permanent and rotating.

“As Chicago’s neighborhood hotel and art gallery, we are proud to give guests an immersive experience inside the hotel that reflects the type of creative spirit they’ll find outside in the West Loop,” said Andrew Hilliker, general manager, Hotel Chicago West Loop.

Floor-to-ceiling graffiti and oil-based murals cover one to all four walls of each guestroom, showcasing elements of Chicago life. Guests may also spot signature elements from the well-known street artists behind the murals, like JC Rivera’s Bearchamp and Eloo’s Honeybear and Classic Donuts.
