Summer is arguably one of best seasons as it is filled with BBQs, travel, beach days, abundant sunshine, pool parties and warm weather. Sure, the season of carefree, lazy pool days and nights is over, but that doesn’t mean the fun is over. The lazy days will be less frequent, and the cold weather will force you to layer clothing, but there is much to look forward to during fall. Follow some of our tips on how to cure the end-of-summer blues.
Eat mood-boosting foods to help stay upbeat and happy with the changing seasons. Zinc improves stress levels and some delicious sources are shrimp, cashews and chickpeas. Other great food options are salmon, whole grains, cherry tomatoes, carrots, dark chocolate and beans.
Exercise is key. Stay active to help increase the endorphins. Take a new workout class or find something you love to do that help keeps you active.
Start a fall bucket list. Write down fall activities you love doing; go pumpkin picking, eat apple cider donuts at an orchard, attend a wine-tasting event, go to a haunted house/corn maze or even plan a Halloween dinner party.
Treat yourself. Go on a shopping spree and grab a pair of cute riding boots and a new cozy warm sweater.
And don’t forget, summer will be back; it just took an eight-month vacation.
