While Airbnb may control the vacation homeshare industry, Innclusive is coming on the scene with new offerings that may put a dent in Airbnb’s market monopoly. With rumors circulating that Airbnb users may be more likely to discriminate against certain travelers, Innclusive, previously Noirebnb, says it’s welcoming to everyone, hence the new name.
The online platform is quite similar to Airbnb, as is the concept. Local hosts rent out rooms or spaces for travelers. Reviews provide honest feedback.
One big difference between the two sites; however, is the ability to see photos of potential guests. While Airbnb requires photos of every user, citing security reasons, Innclusive requires user photos, but does not reveal them to the host until after a booking has been reserved. Then, if a host cancels the booking after viewing the photo, they are not allowed to rent the space out to any other traveler during those dates. This decision is meant to prevent any discrimination based on race or looks, as some Airbnb hosts are accused of denying bookings placed by African American users, and then renting the space out for the same dates to Caucasian users.
Innclusive is growing at an impressive rate, and now offers properties in more than 130 countries.
