Packing Tip? Always use a duffel bag. I can always squeeze my duffel bag into the boot of a car or an overhead compartment.
Favorite travel memory? Visiting Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and bungee jumping over the gorge
Bucket List Destination? Island hopping in Southeast Asia
Favorite off-the-beaten-path spot? Lower Zambezi National Park, it is the wildest place I have ever been. It is a real taste of Africa.
What kind of traveler are you? I am a very social traveler and am always looking to meet more people when I travel. This is what inspired me to build Tripr.
Funniest travel story? Flying from Brazzaville to Johannesburg, we did not have enough fuel to fly all the way. Trip ended up being a six-stop journey with each airport offering us enough fuel to get to the next airport. It was equally terrifying.
Best meal you’ve had on your travels? It would have to be some of the Creole-style cooking I had in New Orleans. A particular favorite was the catfish cheesecake.
Craziest thing you’ve done while traveling? Hitchhiking through Central Africa
Favorite item collected from your travels? Very corny, but the new friends made and the memories
Where next? I am planning on visiting Iran. I want to be able to meet some locals through our new app and plan my adventure around that. Tripr lets me plan the who, as well as the when and the where.
