Long before “selfie” was a word, Joby created its GorillaPod, a flexible camera tripod that could wrap around rocks, trees and signposts, or balance on a flat surface. It allowed for much easier self-photography in a variety of landscapes.
Now, Joby has a similar product designed for your smartphone. And this brilliant creation has an adjustable grip that fits all iPhones, Android and Windows smartphones with or without a case. This makes it much more universal and practical than other similar products. Plus, it still has the great flexible leg joints that have made Joby’s GorillaPods so outstanding.
There’s a GripTight Regular for average-size smart phones and GripTight XL for the larger devices. Joby’s website includes a complete breakdown of which devices work best with which GorillaPod.
The mount is incredibly easy to use. It expands via internal steel springs to grip your device and then clamps down securely. It’s fitted with rubber grip pads so it won’t hurt your phone and so the device won’t slide around. It’s easy to unclip your phone when you’re finished taking the photo, too.
The GorillaPod stashes easily, taking up so little room it’s a no-brainer on any trip or outing.
