Keep Your Feet Dry with Hanz

Socks can be an afterthought, but a crappy pair that doesn’t stand up to physical activity can turn an afterthought into a serious problem. Hanz created high performance waterproof socks that stand up well to a variety of activity, all while keeping your feet warm and dry. Whether you’re hiking through soggy backcountry or cycling in the rain, these socks are a great addition to your gear stash.

The construction is a three-layer membrane that keeps water — even if your foot is completely submerged — out of the sock. Still, water will seep in if you submerge your leg past the height of the sock, which reaches to calf height, or crew length. That being said, the socks do a great job keeping your feet warm even if water seeps in: They sport a thermal protection level of H2, fairly comfortable in the coldest of wet situations.

The socks fit well and are true to the advertised size. They have a bit of stretch to them thanks to a nylon/Lycra and spandex construction. And they wick sweat away, breathing well on hot days. Overall they’re fairly comfortable; the soft interior feels great on the skin and the entire sock doesn’t bunch much, so blisters aren’t a problem.
