Who needs a GoPro when you can just strap your iPhone to your backpack and take video and save hundreds of dollars instead? The Kelty Capture Pack operates as both a backpack for your gear and an on-the-go tripod.
It comes in two styles, the Capture 15 and Capture 25, and provides a great alternative to expensive photography gear and selfie sticks. Both packs are made of durable 420D polyester ball shadow and an Action Pocket that fits most smartphones.
How it works is you place your phone, camera facing out, into the Action Pocket and choose where you want to strap it to the pack. You can place it across the straps in between your chest, on your back, on the bulk of the back itself or on your side. Turn the video on and hit the trail and you’ll have a video of your trip without having to ever hold your phone.
You can also remove the Action Pocket from your pack and use it as a phone stand to take group photos with. If you’re planning a mountain biking expedition just hook the Action Pocket to your pack and it’ll capture you flying down the trails.
Each back comes with an externally accessible hydration sleeve, panel loading, zippered accessory pockets, compression wings, a bike light loop and a key fob. The Capture 25 comes with an extra accessible pack compression and a stretch mess water bottle and snack pocket.
The packs retail for $69.95 on the Kelty website.
