Kontiki Expeditions debuts a new itinerary, exploring coastal Ecuador. The eight-day journey takes place aboard the M/S Kontiki Wayra, a 128-foot ship with nine staterooms and a maximum of 18 guests. The superyacht travels two different routes along Ecuador’s coast, offering guests immersive experiences along the way.
“We have the luxury of delving deeply into the areas we visit. Guests, more than ever, are looking for smaller environments on board and on land, with fewer people and less exposure to risk. We are proud to offer our luxurious yacht and crew to create an experience that is enriching, exciting and safe,” said Carlos Nuñez, CEO and founder, Kontiki Expeditions.
M/S Kontiki Wayra boasts a sundeck, two outdoor lounges, a bar and fitness area. Guests may choose from two itineraries: The Toquilla Expedition and The Spondylus Expedition. Each itinerary explores slightly different islands and inland destinations including Puyango, Zaruma, Bahía de Caráquez and San Vicente. Crew members and local guides lead guests on hands-on, immersive experiences, including a visit to a cocoa farm, wildlife spotting, a visit to see artisan straw hat weavers working, a visit to a turtle nesting site and a local cooking demonstration.
Kontiki Expeditions is the first water-based member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Pricing starts at $7,245 per guest per week, based on double occupancy. The price includes all activities, meals, transfers to and from ports, park entrance fees and guided tours.
