Kula Revolving Sushi bar, in the heart of Little Tokyo Plaza in Los Angeles, takes sushi to new heights. The upscale sushi bar is a go-to destination and usually has a crowd of people waiting at the door.
While the concept of a revolving sushi bar may seem a bit far-fetched, this style of dining is popular in many parts of Asia. Instead of ordering from a menu, customers sit at a counter and individual plates of sushi slip by them on a conveyor belt. The bill is calculated on the total number of plates accumulated.
Each plate has between two and two pieces of sushi or one hand roll and costs less than $3. Try the natto, fermented soybean, sushi and the red bean mochi dessert. In addition to rolls and hand rolls, Kula offers sweet mocha, sticky rice, desserts, salads and soups. Round out the meal with a tall glass of sake — served hot or cold.
Kula also offers a more traditional dining experience, with comfortable booths and a full menu; yet, the real experience comes from snatching your meal off the conveyor belt. Be sure to add this Little Tokyo staple to your itinerary!
