Why try regular surfing when you can try electric-powered surfing with Lampuga instead?
The German-designed product claims to be as smooth as the marine creature which shares its name — the dolphinfish — and the world’s fastest e-surfboard, reaching speeds of up to 32 mph.
The rider controls the surfboard with a steering belt that also carries the accelerator throttle. Attached to the bow of the board, the steering mechanism provides riders with full control.
The Lampuga travels up to 12 miles and runs for up to 35 minutes, allowing riders to cruise and spend a considerable amount of time in coastal areas such as bays, lagoons and lakes.
Riders don’t have to worry about the Lampuga continuing to surf without them if they fall off, as the leg leash triggers the engine to shut off in the event of a wipe out.
The product’s lightweight design allows owners to easily transport the item on the roof of a car rather than in a trailer. It is also environmentally friendly, disturbing neither animals nor other people with its electric jet propulsion system.
Users can charge the Lampuga’s battery in two areas with the included 30-amp charging station or an hour with the available 60-amp version.
Visit the website to see the Lampuga in action.
