Kunyu Mountain Shaolin Martial Arts Academy provides an opportunity for experienced and aspiring martial artists to practice traditional kung fu around the clock. Founded in 2003, the masters at the school provide training in other martial arts, including Tai Chi, Bagua and Chinese kick-boxing.
Room and board is provided at the academy so students can focus on training. The day begins at 6 a.m. and ends just before 8 p.m., with training and meals scheduled. In the evenings, there are free courses in Mandarin Chinese, calligraphy, acupuncture, Buddhism and other cultural topics.
The masters at the academy help students develop physically, psychologically, mentally and spiritually, and are dedicated to providing personalized support to each student. For those interested in competing, the school organizes international competitions for students.
The academy is located at the foot of the beautiful, sacred Kunyu Mountain, neighbored by religious temples. Though surrounded by nature, it’s also extremely accessible, with Yantai City and Muping District just a bus ride away.
Kunyu Mountain Shaolin Martial Arts Academy welcomes students for stays of a few weeks up to several years. After the $100 application fee and $200 administrative fee, monthly attendance, including tuition, room and board, costs $690 with cumulative discounts for extended stays. A year-long stay costs $5,380 for the first year, with discounts for each following year.
