Love sharing your opinions on the hotels you visit throughout your travels, but not really one to write up lengthy reviews? Prefer more of a visual medium, but don’t really want to go through the trouble of creating your own YouTube channel?
Or, maybe, on the flip side, you just love perusing hotel reviews, but you really wish you could actually see videos of the properties you read about without digging for a high-quality video review on social media?
Whichever camp you find yourself in, you may just love this new platform dedicated to hotel video reviews: Room Cougar. Free to use and featuring unfiltered, user-submitted hotel room review videos, this platform aims to revolutionize the way you book hotels — and if you consider yourself a pretty savvy reviewer, the platform will even pay you for accepted review submissions, up to $50 for each.
“Travelers deserve honest, up-to-date insights before booking their stays, and that’s exactly what our platform delivers,” said Ada Miller, CMO, Room Cougar. “Unlike traditional review sites that rely on outdated pictures or polished promotional videos, we offer real, user-generated video reviews that show the truth about hotel rooms. We’re not just empowering travelers with transparency — we’re giving users the opportunity to earn money for their contributions. This is more than a platform; it’s a movement to redefine how people trust and book accommodations, much like how Amazon transformed retail reviews.”
While you’ll currently find the platform accessible via its website, an app is in the works, as well. Currently, the platform features room reviews from hotels across the United States, as well as the United Kingdom, Thailand, Canada, Spain, Japan and more.
