Thrill seekers have the opportunity to hurl through London on a giant urban zipline called Zip World London, believed to be the fastest in any major city in the world. The attraction opened in Archbishop’s Park near Lambeth Palace July 7.
Participants will climb a 35-meter tower, more than double the height of nine double-decker tour buses. As they zip, they’ll approach speeds of 50 mph along the 225-meter descent. The ride ends at a landing tower 12 meters above the ground.
The entire descent takes only 30 seconds, though if riders are able to keep their eyes open, they’ll be able to take in the sights of Big Ben, the Shard, the River Thames and the London Eye.
From start to finish, the experience lasts 40 minutes, including a safety briefing and donning gear. Zip World London will run in the rain, though not in extreme weather.
Zip World London will open 10 a.m.–7 p.m. for 12 weeks. Tickets cost £22.50 for adults, £18.50 for students and £16.50 for children over eight.
