The Galt House, situated on Louisville’s waterfront, completed its $80 million renovation after two years. All of the 1,239 guestrooms were upgraded, as well as the meeting space. More than 1.5 million square feet of space was reimagined and five new dining and bar concepts also debuted.
Guestroom renovations include premium in-room amenities, fresh wood and modern carpeting and upholstery. Hallways and public spaces are more spacious, and the transformed Conservatory overlooks the Ohio River. The Veranda is an airy lobby adjacent to the entrance, and the renovated Thelma’s touts made-to-order breakfast items, coffee and more. These renovations took place in the East Tower; refreshments in the West Tower, including 639 guestrooms, a lobby, meeting space and two standalone restaurant concepts, were completed in March 2020. Find Swizzle Dinner & Drinks, a swanky supper club, on the 25th floor of the hotel.
“The culmination of The Galt House’s historic two-year renovation is a momentous occasion,” said Scott Shoenberger, president and CEO, Al J. Schneider Company. “Every touchpoint has been thoughtfully approached to provide our discerning guests with a more modern look at Southern hospitality. Whether it’s relaxing in one of our plush guestrooms or simply gathering at Swizzle or Walker’s Exchange, our hotel places guests in the heart of Louisville and we’re incredibly excited to invite those from near and far to experience it.”
Location is a central feature of The Galt House, right in downtown Louisville. Nearby attractions include Whiskey Row, the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, Muhammad Ali Center, the Urban Bourbon Trail and more.
