A new independent hotel, Lyle Washington DC, will open in Washington, D.C.’s Dupont Circle in April. Located on New Hampshire Avenue, an early 1940s Art Deco building will house the new hotel from Lore Group.
Jacu Strauss, creative director, Lore Group, looked to create a world of calm in the new hotel, with soft Art Deco features celebrating the building’s history. Rooms in calming neutral tones feature wood headboards, natural materials, rattan seating and berber carpets. Most artwork and the majority of the furnishing are bespoke, designed by Strauss and his team. Of the 196 rooms, 56 boast kitchenettes.
Lyle’s restaurant and bar will serve seasonal, contemporary American fare for breakfast, brunch and dinner, helmed by Nicholas Sharpe, who previously worked with Chef Fabio Trabocchi at Michelin-starred Fiamma.
Meeting and event spaces will be suitable for all types of events and include a Private Dining Room, Parlor and several breakout rooms.
“With Lyle we wanted to take the best of “home” and make it even better,” said Abe Liao, regional general manager, Lore Group. “It’s our priority for our guests to feel as content and comfortable during their time at Lyle, as they might when staying in a friend’s beautiful apartment. Whether staying in one of our guest rooms, hosting a meeting, dining in Lyle’s or catching up with friends for coffee — if we’re doing our job right, Lyle should feel like it was designed just for you.”
