Marriott is one of the biggest names in the hospitality biz, but you may not realize just how big Marriott International is. The company recently opened its 9,000th property in August.
The property in question is The St. Regis Longboat Key Resort in Longboat Key, Florida. Situated on 18 acres, the property offers more than 160 guestrooms, as well as nearly 70 private residences. The resort is the largest development on the island in more than 50 years and all available private residences have already been accounted for.
“It is particularly fitting that this magnificent hotel marks the 9,000th property in our portfolio. This exquisitely designed new build resort embodies the elegance and sophistication synonymous with the St. Regis brand. We are excited to invite guests and residence owners to experience this unique blend of modern amenities and timeless charm, and we look forward to creating unforgettable memories for them in this stunning location,” said Anthony Capuano, president and CEO, Marriott International.
Of its 9,000 properties, more than 500 Marriott properties are luxury hotels and resorts, spanning more than 70 countries and territories, with another 233 luxury projects in more than 50 countries in the works.
