Long gone are the days of rolling with a boombox on your shoulder. Bluetooth speakers are popular nowadays, but JP and Dominic Odbert wanted something more unique to play music on, leading to the creation of the Boomcase, which can only be described as a boombox in a suitcase.
Combining the connectivity of your Beats Pill with your grandpa’s retro luggage, the Boomcase is one of the best sounding portable speakers you can buy, but the best part is each model is completely unique and made from scratch. That’s because the Odbert brothers take multiple days to design, build and test each one to make sure they can play at optimal sound quality.
For those interested in purchasing one, the Boomcase is only limited by your imagination. The cases are sourced from local antique stores and, depending on what you’re looking for, the company can outfit any piece with an array of subwoofers and tweeters at varying wattages. The sound can play for 18-plus hours or ever longer with a solar panel. Other Boomcases have been made out of vintage suits and old barrels, and the company’s long list of celebrity creations include Blake Griffin, Wu-Tang Clan and Coldplay.
