Located on the award-winning Delmar Loop, the Moonrise Hotel is an upscale boutique hotel minutes away from some of St Louis’s most beloved attractions. The hotel itself is decorated in a science fiction motif, with outer space TV memorabilia and pictures. Plate glass, silver and colors like violet are used throughout, creating a moody and mystic vibe.
The rooms include iconic moon imagery, such as the vintage photographs featuring crescent moon picture backgrounds of the 1910s. Large windows and dark wood, along with quirky patterned wallpaper and luxe bedding, remind visitors they aren’t at just any old hotel. The rooftop bar and downstairs lounge are special treats, visited by locals looking for a higher-end night out. The views of the city from the roof cannot be beat.
But perhaps one of the best selling points of this affordable boutique hotel is the close proximity to the Delmar Loop, Forest Park and Washington University. The Central West End is just a short subway ride away, and the hotel is close enough to Forest Park Parkway to make access to downtown convenient. Within walking distance is Blueberry Hill, Fitz, Pin-Up Bowl and a variety of shops and restaurants. Forest Park is home to St Louis’ wide network of free museums, and the huge park is a great place to wander for some fresh air.
Given the walkability of the Moonrise’s neighborhood, the quality rooms and amazing bars on offer, it’s a great place to set up base for a trip to St Louis.

Apr 10, 2025Study Shows More Millennials Are Cruising
A new study from Cruisebound shows more millennials are cruising, as the average age of cruisers trends downward. The study discovered the largest portion of cruisers are ages 25 to 44, making up 45 percent of all cruise bookers. Seniors, aged 55 and up, currently only account for 26 percent of cruise bookers. The platform theorizes this trend in younger cruisers is brought about by cruise lines’ increasing offering of family-friendly experiences and shorter cruises that can be enjoyed over a long weekend.
