Though bike helmets aren’t the easiest thing to store, they certainly are necessary to protect your head from accidents while cycling. For those who think bike helmets are bulky or too much of a pain to carry around, check out Morpher, an easy-to-carry, folding bike helmet that packs down flat.
Morpher eliminates the inconvenience of storing unwieldy, domed-shaped bike helmets with a foldable design. The helmet folds in half when not in use, allowing wearers to easily pack it away in backpacks, purses or briefcases. When ready to ride again, wearers can simply pop the helmet back into shape and stay safe while cycling.

The helmet is made of hard plastic and foam, similar to that found in traditional helmets. An internal, flexible layer links segments of foam, acting as a hinge and allowing the helmet to fold in half.
British cyclist Jeff Woolf was inspired to invent the Morpher after noticing many cyclists using European bike shares were going helmetless and not protecting their heads. He discovered 83 percent of cyclists ditch the safety accessory due to lack of portability.
The Morpher is available for a special introductory price of $89, with estimated deliveries scheduled for June. Those interested can learn more at morpherhelmet.com purchase the foldable helmet online at Indiegogo.
