For those caught between the digital and the analog world, it’s hard to let go of the satisfaction of touching pen to paper. Aiming to bridge the gap is Equil and their Smartpen 2, an analog pen equipped with technology to digitize your notes in real time.
While most people under 30 haven’t written a note since leaving high school, anyone who needs to sketch, take handwritten notes or create diagrams will appreciate Equil, which will capture your notes in high resolution, save them, send them to your phone and laptop, convert to text and sync to your back-up cloud.
The beauty of the Smartpen is it works like a normal pen. There isn’t any special paper or ink you have to use, as the device’s ultrasound and infrared technology will capture the point’s position at a rate of 80 transmissions per second, with 600 levels of pen intensity, ensuring the digitized version is incredibly accurate.
The pen works by sending its captured information to a receiver, which in turn can be connected by Bluetooth to your devices. Equil states the receiver can record up to 10,000 pages of typical paper notes before having to store them somewhere else.
Priced at $119, the Equil Smartpen 2 comes with a charging cradle, receiver, USB cable, spare ink cartridge and cap. Learn more at myequil.com.
