If you’re a fan of stand-up paddleboarding — or even if you’re not — you’ll probably want to check this out. It turns out that SUPing at night is an option after all, thanks to the men and women at NightSUP.
They’ve found a way to attach light kits to the bottoms of paddleboards to help keep you going all through the night. By strapping LED lights, you’re able to do all your favorite SUP activities, like yoga or eco-touring, any time.
The lights are bright enough to help you navigate in the dark and, in clear water, they even allow you to see what’s swimming beneath you. That might not be so wonderful if you frequent shark-infested waters, but for everyone else it’s pretty neat.
The lights are operated with waterproof batteries but come at a hefty price. A single customized board starts at $1,725 and goes up from there. If you’re a kayaker, they’ve even begun to outfit those with the lights too.
NightSUP is based out of Southern Florida and doesn’t have the widest reach yet, but if you’re a diehard fan and want to try them out, they have a list of retailers on their website.
