Nikki Beach Saint Barth, Eden Rock Partner for Coral Conservation

Nikki Beach Global recently announced Nikki Beach Saint Barth partnered with Island Nature Experiences, Territorial Environment Agency and Eden Rock – St Barths on a transformative Coral Restoration project called Eden Reef. Through the partnership, the brands helped breathe new life into the island’s coral reefs using an innovative BioRock technique.

The BioRock technique involves a three-step process to revitalize existing coral reefs and promote further propagation. The coral frags are first attached to copper reinforcements before an energy source is applied. Next, the restoration team boosts the mineralization of the coral and monitors its progress, making adjustments where needed in order for the coral reef to thrive and grow.

So far, the results have been promising, with about 200 coral fragments experiencing significant growth. The restoration project has also welcomed back a variety of vibrant fish, growing the population of juveniles of different species, proof of the successful revitalization of the local marine ecosystem.
