The rustic, Western interior of Ore House perfectly encompasses everything that makes Durango, Colorado, so appealing for tourists from around the world. But the decor doesn’t even hold a candle to the exquisite food coming out of the kitchen. Having dined at a lot of restaurants in this town, I feel pretty comfortable saying Ore House stands out as the best.
The design of the restaurant manages to create an atmosphere as equally laid-back as it is upscale, offering the perfect locale for a quick bite with a friend or a romantic evening on the town. The staff is top-notch, always providing a friendly face, fast service and answers to any questions. While the menu focuses on delicious steaks and seafood, they also offer options appealing to vegetarians, too.
The teriyaki prime flat-iron is a personal favorite, and I always start my meals here with an Alaskan King Crab cake whenever I’m in town. Ore House also offers an impressive list of beer and wine, along with a few spirits that help to kick the night off right.
While there are plenty of options for dining out in Durango, none offer quite the amazing atmosphere and delicious food Ore House can.
