Finding the perfect suitcase is hard depending on what you need. Most weekend warriors are good with a standard roller, but what if you’re spending time in the outdoors? What if you prefer a backpack but not all the time?
Osprey has a solution with its line of Sojourn rolling backpacks. It’s one part suitcase and one part duffle. If you’re familiar with Osprey’s Porter line, the Sojourn is essentially that with wheels. It’s also more utilitarian than stylish, since Osprey is, for the most part, an outdoors company. The bag is designed to take a beating with a sturdy, synthetic material, aluminum frame, oversized wheels and a quality suspension system for when you need to move fast.
You can get it in three sizes: 80, 60 and 45 liters. The smallest one is carry-on compliant, but not for every airline with a height of 22 inches. That said, these bags have a lot of space, with two large compartments and several smaller ones for easy organizing.
The harness system can be hidden away in a pocket or completely removed if you don’t plan on wearing it on your back. The handle is also sturdy, utilizing two bars instead of the one found on most rolling backpacks.
