When any friends or relatives come to Los Angeles to visit, I jump at the chance to take them to Pink Taco on the Sunset Strip. Nestled in the heart of West Hollywood and the Sunset Strip, it has the ultimate LA vibe.
Parking is a bit awkward — they have the smallest parking lot on the planet, so I suggest you valet if you do not want to try and find parking on the street.
The atmosphere of Pink Taco is immediate once you walk through the large wooden doors. With rock music blaring, unique art on the walls and a large bar area, you know you’re in for a good time. My favorite place to sit is the outdoor area — it’s a bit more intimate and you can feel the breeze.
The menu is typical SoCal Mexican cuisine, with some upscale ingredients that are fresh and delicious … and which show in the price. The margaritas are tasty; I always go full out and get the blended strawberry margarita served in a hallowed out pineapple. Their tacos are superb, but I suggest you splurge and get the lobster enchiladas. It’s steep at $22 a plate, but the corn tortillas filled with lobster, brandy-chipotle crème, avocado crème and three cheeses will be well worth it.
The place is a great night out or brunch with friends. They have another LA location in Century City, which is popular for their happy hour crowd from the neighboring business centers.
