Tips / Travel

There is nothing worse than arriving in a new city and finding yourself completely lost. Things can get downright depressing if it’s late at night and there is no one to ask for directions.

While mapping apps have become far more sophisticated in recent years, Citymapper stands out from the crowd for the sheer amount of information it provides the user. Not only does the app load maps of the local area and tell you exactly where you are, it offers an amazingly simple itinerary function which lets you plan your next journey.

Simply type in your destination and the app will offer walking routes, driving routes and public transportation itineraries. It may sound like an unsophisticated idea, but you may be surprised by how many mapping apps manage to make things so complicated.

Fortuntately, Citymapper is not one of them, and all of the relevant information is displayed in a crystal clear interface. So far the app covers New York, Boston, Hong Kong, Singapore, London and other world cities, with more being added on a rolling basis.

The makers of Citymapper made widgets that allow the app to integrate with others such as Uber, meaning all of your transport needs can be served seamlessly. The app has won legions of fans and many people now wonder how they got around before Citymapper.

If you’ve not tried it yourself, find out what you are missing by downloading the app today.
