The Poconos aren’t just for skiing and winter sports. There is a wide range of activities available in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains year-round. This includes a number of obstacle course adventures, like the Treetops Adventure Course by Camelback Mountain Adventures.
If you’ve ever dreamed of walking along the treetops, here’s your chance. This sky-high ropes course allows visitors to climb, swing and zip line their way through a variety of obstacles while taking in gorgeous views of the Pocono Mountains.
Adventurers are fully secure in a safety harness for the duration of the course, but it is not for people afraid of heights. The course has more than 100 hundred obstacles and can take anywhere from three to 4.5 hours to complete, although there’s no need to rush. Most families with young children are able to make it through in less than four hours, and the guides stationed throughout the course will help you get through patches where you’re unsure how to proceed.
If you have kids under the age of 18, you will need an adult to accompany them through the course. If you are looking to enjoy the course, but don’t want it to eat up your afternoon, there is also a half-course option that takes less time but features many of the same obstacles from the main course. The half course is available on weekdays, and is available every half hour until noon, set at a discounted price.
Due to the popularity of the Treetop Adventure Course, Camelback Mountain Adventures recommends you book your course ahead of time. The treetop course is open until Nov. 27, so be sure to plan your trip before the winter weather is upon us.
