Boutique hotels are nothing new, but a new travel trend incorporates luxury with affordability. Poshtels are sweeping the travel scene as essentially fancier lodging in a hostel.
The rooms in a poshtel will not differ too much from hostels in terms of capacity. Private and shared rooms will still be available, and some will even offer penthouses. Amenities will improve from WiFi and games to exercise rooms, pools, fully stocked bars (offering more than just beers and free shots) and rooftop access. Guests will be able to purchase any toiletries they may have left behind at home, which is a feature rarely found at traditional hostels.
The interiors of these hostels will be created by top-tier designers, outfitted with warm and modern colors and decor, as opposed to seeming like the lobby of a bunk at summer camp.
Prices vary depending on the size, occupancy, location and other factors. The poshtels on the cheaper end of the price spectrum will not differ greatly from standard hostels in terms of nightly rental rates.
Poshtels cater to travelers of all ages and often house restaurants and bars under the same roof. With a central location, pristinely clean rooms and just a touch of extravagance at a wallet-friendly budget, poshtels are moving in as one of the best travel lodging options for your budget.
