Tips / Travel

It takes 119.5 seconds to pour the perfect pint of Guinness. Follow these six steps to ensure the beverage is prepared the way it’s intended to be served:

Glass

Pick a cold glass and inspect to make sure there are no smudges or other imperfections.

Tilt

Place the glass at a 45-degree angle, aiming the nozzle at the golden harp icon on the glass.

Pull

Pull the handle all the way down and slowly raise the glass. You never want the nozzle to touch the liquid.

Settle

Once you fill the glass to the top of the golden harp, return the handle upright and let the brew settle. The head should be smooth before moving onto the next step.

Top Up

This time, push the handle away until the head of the beer reaches the top of the glass.

Enjoy

Now that you’ve poured a perfect pint, enjoy the fruits of your labor.
