Calling all adventure seekers! Experience a truly unique view above the Sonoran Desert with Arizona Powerchutes. A powerchute (powered parachute) consists of a two-seat wheeled cart that floats 20 feet beneath a 40-foot parachute.
Here’s how it works: the parachute is laid out behind the cart as you and your instructor buckle up and start the engine. You’ll throttle about halfway, propelling you forward while the parachute starts to inflate and rise above the cart. Once the parachute is fully inflated, you’ll increase to full throttle and lift off. Your pilot will adjust the altitude to your comfort level by increase engine power to climb or decreasing power to descend. The steering wheels at your feet turn the powerchute left or right. You fly at a speed of about 26 miles per hour. Take in the stunning views of the desert’s wildlife, plants and mountains. Each trip is customized based on the powerchuter’s needs.
Once back on the ground, you’ll receive a first flight certificate and a pilot’s log book. The time can be counted towards a sport pilot license. Visit the website for more information about reservations.
