In the world of culinary arts, the general population is probably most familiar with peanut butter. There are many other types of nut butters, though. Ground Up is working to empower women while providing delicious nut butters to the world at large.
Ground Up takes the traditional concept of nut butters and turns it on its head. The online store is based out of Portland, Oregon. Shoppers can find everything from classic recipes like smooth almond butter to creative twists like Oregon Hazelnut and Almond butter, Cinnamon Snickerdoodle Almond, Cashew and Coconut butter and Walnut Cashew nut butter with black pepper sea salt.
Ground Up offers a few vegan recipes, but beware not all are vegan. If you’re the cooking type, the site also sells its own cookbook to help customers make their own butters at home.
Supporting Ground Up goes to more than procuring delicious nut butters. Ground Up has created an inclusive work environment with on-the-job training to meet at-risk women where they are. The impact goes to lengths including the hiring of adversity-impacted women as part-time employees.
