Noonday Collection, which sells handcrafted jewelry and accessories, is creating opportunities for artisans and businesses around the world, focusing on individuals living in vulnerable and impoverished countries and communities. The company, launched just 10 years ago, searches the world over for talented artisans whose communities are impacted by poverty, disease and violence. Noonday helps to empower these individuals by bringing their wares to a global market.
Each product sold by Noonday is handcrafted and comes with a story about the designer and their country of origin. The artisans not only get their handicrafts into the hands of customers who can genuinely appreciate their talents, they are able to work in jobs that produce a good income and a dignified life for their families. Through Noonday these artisans are able to build businesses that bring jobs to struggling communities.
Noonday’s artisans represent countries such as Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Peru, Guatemala, India and Rwanda, just to name a few. Products are often created with traditional designs unique to their creator’s country of origin and use sustainable materials in their craftsmanship. Some of the materials used in production are upcycled artillery from Ethiopia, paper beads and ethically sourced horn from Uganda, and natural seeds from Ecuador.
