Discover Kyushu recently launched a new guided cycling itinerary through Responsible Travel that offers guests the chance to see the best, lesser-known spots to enjoy Japan’s Cherry Blossoms. The crafted cycling routes blend adventure, culture, culinary highlights and natural beauty.
Each package includes accommodations, meals, multilingual cycling guide or guides, and a support vehicle.
During the 13-day Cherry Blossoms of Kyushu visits the prefectures of Yamaguchi, Fukuoka, Oita, Kumamoto, Kagoshima and Miyazaki, where the beautiful pink trees frame the rivers and roads in spring. The season is not long, lasting only about two weeks, so visits to the more off-the-beaten-path destinations of Yamaguchi and Kyushu truly allow for guests to fully experience the country’s iconic and spectacular Sakura season in its full glory.
Another itinerary of interest in Japan is the 14-day Off the Beaten Track package, taking cyclists along the western coastline and islands of Kyushu, through the prefectures of Kagoshima, Kumamoto, Saga, Fukuoka and Nagaski. The tour visits some of Japan’s most beautiful beaches, lush mountain passes and incredible volcanoes. The area’s rich culture is full of ancient history with delicious food and friendly locals.
