Restaurant

Bashi is Terranea Resort’s Asian-inspired restaurant. It was a cool evening, but we decided to sit under heat lamps on the patio, overlooking the ocean.

Our waiter talked us through the menu, making food and drink suggestions. The restaurant offered an impressive sake selection, though we opted for Prosecco. The menu boasts small plates, entrees, an assortment of sushi, noodles, rice and sides. We wanted to sample a little bit of everything, so we shared several dishes.

We started with the lemongrass chicken lettuce wraps. The chicken was cooked with water chestnuts, onion and herbs and came with butter lettuce cups on the side. The chicken was surprisingly spicy and, as this wasn’t indicated on the menu, we couldn’t finish the entire plate. Always a favorite, we ordered a side of Brussels sprouts. The Asian flavors melded nicely with the roasted sprouts. Our waiter recommended the sizzling shaking beef as an entrée. The tender beef was covered in a tangy pepper lime sauce. We also enjoyed the Shanghai-style garlic noodles — another popular menu item. We added shrimp, which matched perfectly with the rich, garlic sauce.

Bashi serves up interesting dishes with big flavors. It’s a great spot for a quiet evening at Terranea Resort.
