Those who live in Mercer County, N.J., are all too familiar with the area’s exceptional dining. From DeLorenzo’s Tomato Pies in Robbinsville to Toscano Ristorante in Bordentown and Stone Terrace by John Henry in Hamilton, foodies can have their pick.
One of those restaurants, in particular, has quite a promising reputation: Stone Terrace. Once located in Trenton’s Chambersburg section, dominating the restaurant scene, John Henry and Joe Russo decided to move to the suburbs after 21 years.
In 2010, the Hamilton facility opened and is now a restaurant and expansive catering complex. Each time a customer dines in the restaurant, they get a taste of what is offered at its events and weddings. With five banquet rooms, a beautiful garden terrace and an on-site a la carte restaurant, Stone Terrace offers an unparalleled commitment to excellence.
Much of the menu from the Chambersburg location moved to Hamilton, focusing on seafood and Russo’s popular homemade meatballs. There are, however, new additions, attempting to diversify the menu and attract more customers.
My family and I have been to Stone Terrace numerous times for dinner, as well as events, and have not been disappointed. On our most recent visit, we attended an event in one of the larger ballrooms. The food was superb, from the house salad and three-cheese penne pasta with fresh marinara sauce to the herb-roasted, bone-in chicken breast with red potatoes, my stomach was pleasantly satisfied. Now you can’t forget about the extensive dessert table with an array of mini pastries and cookies — which I must say I visited quite a few times.
Whether you’re at Stone Terrace dining in the restaurant, there for an event or having food catered, you will be wowed.
