Aloft posits itself as a unique, modern take on the hotel experience and I have to say I agree with their self-assessment. For such a reasonably priced room (I paid $100 per night), I was impressed with the overall layout and design of the Aloft in Denver, Colo.
Each Aloft hotel is uniquely designed, so you shouldn’t find one exactly the same as the next, but they do share some common denominators. For instance, the highlight of my stay was definitely the w xyz bar located in the lobby. The area when you enter the hotel is an open-concept space, so you’ll be in both the lobby and the bar at the same time. It makes for a wonderful way to interact with other guests if you’re looking to make a few friends.
The room itself was spacious, with nine-foot walls and a roomy, glass shower with stone walls. The king-size bed took up a lot of space in the room and was a little harder than what I’m used to.
The hotel provided a desk for me to work, and it was the only realistic sitting space in the room aside from the bed. The TV was mounted high on the wall.
The hallways and lobby area were painted with mural-style designs that often resembled graffiti, which was fun to look at and discuss with fellow guests. The hotel is dog-friendly.
Overall, I had a good experience and would probably stay here again on future trips

Nov 20, 2024Where to Find the Best Stargazing Spots in Ireland
This year, the Northern Lights put on quite the display across Ireland, but don’t think these lights are the only thing you can see in Ireland. In fact, many spots across the country provide some of the best opportunities to stargaze thanks to low levels of light pollution. Ireland has three International Dark Sky Parks and even more spots which, although not accredited, are worth a visit for anyone wishing to see the sky in its unfiltered form.
