Chicago, Ill., is nothing short of a foodie’s paradise. The lakeside city is packed with amazing culinary staples and exciting new establishments. The question of where to eat while in town is a daunting one, primarily because everywhere you look there’s something bound to catch your eye. But if you’re in Logan Square, Revolution Brewpub should definitely be on your list of dinner destinations.
Revolution Brewpub is routinely packed, and it’s no wonder why. Dominated by a large double bar in the center of the dining floor, the restaurant is dotted with benches made from wood salvaged during construction. The beers on tap, brewed in the city at Revolution’s brewery, are a diverse array of pilsners, IPAs and porters. The wine list is nothing to scoff at, but the beer is what it’s all about at this dark and cozy joint.
The food is upscale pub fare, hearty enough to keep anyone warm on a cold Chicago night. Appetizers include staples like wings and mussels alongside inventive originals like bacon fat popcorn. Entrees like fish and chips or risotto appear on the menu, along with classic sandwiches with clever twists, such as the duck grilled cheese.
Expect a wait, as Revolution Brewpub doesn’t take reservations. But the wait won’t be too bad, as you can order appetizers and drinks to while away your time. Digging into some bacon fat popcorn and enjoying a local beer will make you forget you’re still waiting for the main course.
